Boardgame Starship Catan: My ship went right, buddy's went left. 'Nuff Said

Just kidding.

As an avid player, I have never actually played the Catan games, figuring out that true Geeks do not play popular games like Monopoly or Catan. It's Advanced Squad, Fire & Fury, etc or death.

Well, I took a step back and tried Starship Catan with my friend Jim, after we played the kiddy game Strange New Worlds.

Tile placement games are not something I'm overly used to, but it's a nice change from slaughter games.

I found the game must have been heavily play tested as it was elegantly balanced. Lots of options and strategies to consider.

Clearly, Jim's merchant ship is evil for going <--- thataway. :-)

We got a little hooked up on the rules and how to win, but resolved it finally when we realized we were putting the colony and trade ships on the planet, instead of back in the reserve. Jim won 10 -7.
