Trying to get a ten year old into Miniature Gaming.

My buddy Jim borrowed some terrain, minis, dinosaurs and Saurian Safari rules in order to introduce miniature gaming to his ten year old son, CB.

By all accounts, they had a blast. They used their lego men instead of my minis, but apart from that Jim ensured that the rules were strictly adhered to.

When Jim and I played in order to teach him the rules, we barely rolled any dinosaurs for our hunt. Now, though, his son and Jim rolled up a storm of dinosaurs.

They played twice and were eaten in the first game, but the second game as a shooter's paradise and CB really enjoyed it.

In this age of video games, showing a young player the possiblities of miniature gaming (and hopefully later on, tabletop gaming) can be a satisfying endeavour in itself. I think Jim did a great job and hope C.B caught the bug, like his father before him 30 years ago.
